Prof. P.Ragunathan and Dr.Mrs.Geeth Ragunath are the founders of Geeth Ragunath Hospital. Dr.Geeth Ragunath hails from a remote village who was the first female educationalist from the surrounding villages. She started OPD in Attur at Rangasamy naicker street in 1977, with a single bed laid in the OPD. " It was the need of an hour " to start the In-Patient service rather than a business proposition when the first delivery was conducted on a bench. The first In-Patient block with 6 beds was started in Kamarajanar Road,Attur. In 1980, the In-Patient block evolved into Sundar Surgical Nursing Home at Gandhi Nagar,Attur. It was the first hospital with bath attached single room concept, built in 1984.
